Can You Use Rubbing Alcohol To Clean A Tobacco Pipe?

 Using a plastic bag, soak the tube in denatured alcohol for a few minutes until the tube is covered. Shake the Ziploc bag vigorously for two minutes until the isopropyl alcohol turns brown and your tubing is clean (or at least cleaner). After cleaning, leave the pipe for a day or so before smoking to allow the alcohol to completely evaporate. For best results, the metal pipe should be completely coated with alcohol. 

To dip a pipe, place a metal pipe in a bowl and fill it with alcohol. Then clean the bowl using the alcohol-soaked technique from the previous steps. To begin this cleaning, carefully remove the tube stem from the bowl and place the two pieces on a paper towel. After slightly loosening the particles, as described above in the daily process, fold a clean tube in half and soak it in a small amount of alcohol. 

As always, if you want or need, you can always re-soak your pipe in a fresh dose of denatured alcohol or 420 cleaner. Sometimes we recommend cleaning your pipes more thoroughly than just plugging your pipe after smoking. When deep cleaning is required, you can dip the brush in denatured alcohol and pass it through the tube. Using a pipe cleaner before each use of your pipe will not only improve your instant smoking, but can also reduce the frequency of deep cleanings. 

Frequent pipe cleaning will give you cleaner and more regular smoke in your next session. Cleaning with salt, this practice will ensure that your wood pipe is as good as new. All that is needed to clean the tube is isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt, such as rock salt. Taking a little more time and effort than using alcohol, white vinegar and rock salt should clear the pipes. 

The alcohol acts as a disinfectant and the salt acts as an abrasive to help clean the tubes. After shaking the tube, apply the vinegar or alcohol solution and close the lid. Fold the drained pipe cleaner in half, gently rub the sides of the bowl and insert the brush into the spikes to clean the bowl and the air holes inside. Using a bristle brush dipped in alcohol, alternately dry the tube's pores with the brush and dry brush. 

Remove the bristle brush and turn it over or use a different brush, repeating this process until the brushes come out clean. Then clean the mulch on the left by running the alcohol-soaked brush back and forth along the stem from one end to the other.
